LESSONS

I teach a wide range of students including:
Beginners; long time players; college students working on their Masters degree in music; grade school kids; retired adults; hobbyists; players who went on to make music a profession; guitar and bass players; other string players and horn players wanting to learn music theory and improvisation.

GUITAR
Levels: Beginner to very advanced
Styles:  Rock (all types), Jazz, Blues, Funk, Country
Techniques: Basics to advanced, speed picking, tapping, sweeping, comping

BASS
Levels: Beginner to Intermediate
Styles:  Blues, Rock, Funk, Jazz
Techniques: Finger style, Slap & Pop, Pick style

THEORY & IMPROV
Beginning to advanced analysis, scales from basic diatonic and pentatonic to modes and ‘artificial’ scales and their usage, chords usage and analysis from basic to altered upper extensions, relation of scales to chords and chord tones for improvisational purposes, bi-tonal improvisation and substitution, quartile and modal approaches to harmony.
